A study of the median half-yearly quotes for all driver categories showed the lowest value for this cohort, at $687. For this analysis, Zimlon selected the top four auto insurance companies based on the 2016 NAIC report: Alfa Mutual Insurance Company, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, Progressive Specialty Insurance Company, and Allstate Property and Casualty Insurance Company.
Information on insurance premiums was obtained from the Alabama Department of Insurance website. The collision deductible for this analysis was chosen as $500. Bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident, and property damage limits were set as $25,000, $50,000, and $25,000 respectively. The medical payment limit was chosen as $1,000.
