GM had the most number of recalls over the past 25 years at 902 recalls compared to their peer group such as Ford (729), Chrysler (572), Honda (246), BMW (240) & Toyota (235). The recall rates of GM were disproportionate to the sales of GM who had a 17.7% market share in May 2014 compared to Ford & Toyota who had a 15.7% & 15.1% market share respectively.
