I use State Farm for my car insurance as well. I like State Farm because it is the most affordable. State Farm was able to beat their price by 30 dollars therefore I switched.
My experience with AAA has actually gotten worse as of late. I was involved in an accident as fault of the other driver and my rates still went up. Not Pleased.

What I dislike about State Farm Auto Insurance is that over the years they have continuously raised their rates without justification so that they are nearly not affordable as an auto insurance option. On top of this, over the years they have become less responsive to claims and making sure the customer is really taken care of. In other words, they have not displayed true loyalty to long term clients.
The only interaction I had with a real person was when I had a clam in 2012. Progressive went to bat for me against the other person's insurance company and made it so I wouldn't have to worry.
They are located really close to where I live and work. It makes it easy and quick to stop in and talk face to face with them.
The thing I like is that it is local. The thing I don't like is sometimes how difficult it is to get information or that my agent changes so often.
I'm sure I could get insurance cheaper elsewhere, but I doubt they would be as good in a crisis as State Farm.
I have never had to interact with my company, I have my payment taken out of my checking every month automatically, and I receive a policy renewal every six months.
